A message from the Team
Central to our journey is a steadfast belief in the transformative potential of innovation as a tool offering unprecedented opportunities for advancement and global progress. However, with this potential for transformation, comes a profound responsibility to safeguard democratic values and Human Rights.
As algorithms increasingly permeate decision-making processes across various sectors, it becomes imperative to confront and mitigate inherent biases that may permeate these systems.

Ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability in the development, deployment, and regulation of new technologies is paramount to preserving the integrity of our legal and ethical frameworks.

Nice to meet you!
I'm Maria Sara Neri, a Master's student in Law, specializing in International and Comparative Law at the University of Pavia (Italy) where I also worked as an Academic Tutor of Public Law.
Currently, I am based in Brussels, undertaking a traineeship program at an EU law firm while simultaneously conducting research for my Master's thesis on the intersection between Fundamental Rights and Artificial Intelligence.

Beyond academia, I have been deeply committed to advocating for Human Rights internationally since the age of 19, when I joined the first project at the United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ), in New York.
I have been a Young European Ambassador for the project named BUILDEU2 until the European Elections of June 2024, in the framework of which we have been working with the EU Institutions to increase youth participation in the mentioned elections and I have been Youth Delegate to the World Forum for Democracy (WFD23) to the Council of Europe (CoE) in 2023. I am currently part of the Advisory Board of the International Youth Conference (IYC), where we collaborate closely with the United Nations (UN) to involve the global youth in decision-making processes; I am the Coordinator - Italy of the International Direction of Constitutional Law at the Organización Democrática Mundial (WDO/ODM) and I'm deeply engaged with UNICEF at European level, focusing on projects aligned with the Agenda 2030.

One of my major passions lies in exploring the intersection of Human Rights, Law and new technologies:
my journey into the realm of innovation-related Law began during the second year of University, in 2020, when an intensive course organized by the European Center of Law, Science, and New Technologies (ECLT), crossed my path and sparked my curiosity for this intricate field. Since then, the pursuit of knowledge in this dynamic field has been furthered by my enrollment in different programs and related projects, and it brought me to the creation of iGlobal.Lawyer, making converge in one time and place the passion for Advocacy & International Law.

Elisa Rossi, Italy

My name is Elisa Rossi! I'm a dedicated Law student deeply interested in exploring how Law intersects with the unfolding era dominated by technological challenges.
During my time at high school, I joined an interdisciplinary course which helped me delve into the world of Robotics and New Technologies, providing me with a sneak peek of Machine Learning (ML) processes. I was honored to be chosen as one of two students to present our project at Fiera Didacta 2019, where we shared our insights with esteemed representatives from educational institutions across the country.

I am currently enrolled in a Single-cycle Master's degree in Law at the University of Pavia - specializing in Legal Practice - where I have excelled in courses such as “Internet Law and new frontiers in Digital Media”, which enabled me to explore the legal intricacies of the Internet and the impacts of innovation on our lives. Additionally, I am actively participating in a Legal Clinic focusing on Mediation, where we examine how New Technologies, including AI, affect Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods implemented nowadays. To complement my academic coursework, I frequently participate in various online educational courses to deepen my knowledge in the vast field of innovation.

In 2024, I began a Legal Traineeship in an Italian Legal Firm and, as a Human Rights Advocate, I am dedicated to social service and volunteering: I have been an active member of Leo Club Voghera, the youth branch of Lions Club International, since 2019, holding various leadership roles until being the Officer of it today; I am a UNICEF Advocate, where I contribute to children's rights and participate in social awareness programs.
Francesca Neri, Italy
Executive Director & Lawyer
I’m an Italian Lawyer specialized in Civil and Criminal Law, with a background that extends beyond traditional legal practice.
For a significant period, I dedicated my work to Corporate and Company Law but I have recently shifted to focus on Civil and Criminal law in order to be closer to the genuine needs of individuals and effectively defend their social rights in the everyday life; this, because I firmly believe that the social role of a Lawyer extends beyond the courtroom and I wanted to make this social role more tangible in my daily practice.
I am also a Commercial and Civil Mediator and Co-founder of UNAM (National Association of Lawyers for Mediation) - Arezzo, leveraging alternative dispute resolution methods to facilitate amicable resolutions and foster harmony in legal proceedings; furthermore, I have recently obtained the qualification to teach Law in academic settings, pursuing my other goal to spread legal education and knowledge dissemination.
This diverse skill set allows me to approach legal issues from various angles, providing comprehensive support to my clients and advocating for Justice both inside and outside the courtroom. I believe that a Lawyer is an Advocate who uses technical means to uphold Human Rights.

Elena Zambelli, Italy
Associate Editor
As a fifth-year Law student at the University of Pavia, with a background at Collegio Ghislieri and Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori (IUSS), I am currently delving into the impact of new technologies on criminal proceedings for my Master's thesis and I find myself constantly immersed in a world where the lines between Human Rights and technological advancements, blur intriguingly. New technologies hold immense potential to revolutionize various aspects of our lives, including judicial proceedings, yet, as I navigate through the intricate web of legal frameworks and ethical considerations, I cannot help but ponder the implications of integrating such technology into our justice systems.
One of the fundamental pillars of any democratic society is the right to a fair trial: it's indeed a cornerstone of Justice to ensure to individuals to be treated impartially and provided with ample opportunity to present their case. However, as AI algorithms become increasingly intertwined with legal processes, questions arise regarding the preservation of this Fundamental Right.
